Project Update - 2024.09.03
So, yes, it's very "Data Visualization is My Passion" but I've never used draw.io or made a flow chart before!
What is this?
This is the current logic behind a turn in the generative match system I'll be using for this project. If you don't know what this sort of chart is, it's essentially it's a visualization of the logic/algorithm that the program will execute including if statements and various types of dice rolls.
It's pretty sprawling and actually kinda incomplete because I haven't decided what ties do in every situation yet. There's a lot of tweaking left to be done. But this was a big help in organizing my thoughts. Originally I had this all in a document as bullet points and it eventually started to make me dizzy. I needed a better way to visualize it. While this is still pretty difficult to parse when so zoomed out, I find it very legible up close. This is just for me, anyway, so it's not like it has to make a ton of sense to other people.
The next step here is to actually program this. I'll probably do it in GameMaker Studio since that's what I have and am most familiar with. That way, then I can make some extra buttons to fudge the narrative around if I decide I need to.
I'm going to hide this extra secret announcement of the deadline I've given myself. I will be posting ACTUAL story updates starting: January (hopefully)
