Project Update - 2023.10.31

Hello folks!

I've been plugging away at this project still. I expected to launch it proper last weekend but have gone a little overboard writing the settings timeline. Originally I planned to post it, a short introduction to the current season, and at least of the mechs, but instead I've mostly just been fleshing out the lore. It's a good thing to be sure. Now I have a much much better idea what this project is even about really. (spoilers: It's actually about enjoying and making entertainment in a post-capitalism post-apocalypse world that has more or less achieved a form of leftist utopia.) But also what the actual structure is going to be.

In other news I have finished designing and painting a number of the models that will be featured. All I need to do is take photos and... well there's still a lot of work to go for them. The painting part is probably my least favorite. It takes HOURS despite mostly just being panel lining because 30MM kits are so greebled with lots of little nooks and lines. A lot of the mechs have a lot parts too since I'm having so much fun designing them. Not a major deal but you know how it is.

As of now 24 mechs are planned across the three divisions. Which sounds like a lot, but some are more complex than others. But in model design but also narratively. I'm not against being like "uhhh, this guy is like wendigo. The mech is called 'Wengido'. That's also the pilot's name. We don't know anything about them." Leave blank spaces and all.

Of those 24, ten are built and six are painted. If they're built then they all have the basics written about them. At least a rough back story and my fun made-up stats (I have so much fun making up the stats!!) I have another eight kits that are unbuilt and a few more on the way because I just can't stop. As mentioned previously kits will be reused a ton once the a battler has been posted so I'm not worried about running out of pieces or ideas. It should get easier as it goes on as more parts will already be painted.

OK, that's all for now. Bye~~~!
