1.2 Update

Hello folks,

I believe this will be the final major update for this game. Certainly for the foreseeable future. I had a few ideas in the last week that I was waffling on if I would put them in the game. As I've said before, I want to be done with this project. Not because I don't like working on it, but because I'm ready to move on to other things. Still, these ideas were so good that I couldn't pass them up.

The major change is the way Hum works. Hum is the homing weapon. Previously, you had to hold down the attack button to load charges that would fire upon releasing the button. It was intended to be the "safe" weapon. Slow, not super reliable DPS, but high damage and could let players focus on dodging or escaping, etc. I realized that holding the button wasn't really conducive to its role. Especially as an option for players who may not have the dexterity to hold the attack button and hit the jump button with the same thumb. So now it just automatically gains charges overtime and holding the button fires them. It feels SO MUCH better.

The next feature I added was a new Style option where players can control the amount of projects that get shot for certain boss attacks. This was something I’ve wanted to add for a long time, but just sort of didn’t for whatever reason. Changing this from “Standard” really alters the feel for the attacks in some interesting ways. It’s not completely a “more = harder” sort of thing too. It varies from attack and I think some players will find it a lot of fun to mess with.

Lastly I added the option to change the color of the character. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner as it’s a no brainer and I even have some trouble recognizing where the player character is sometimes. So you can do that now! It works based on the main hue and will cycle relative to that. Hopefully this option can help those who have some vision issues. It’s not a full on color blind mode, but hopefully they’ll be able to find something that works well for them with the current options.

That’s all for now. Hope you’re all doing well!

Thank you for updating the game until now! I've been really enjoying this project you made. It's honestly kinda sad to know that you won't make major updates, but hopefully you can work on whatever you want to now!

   Good luck out there!
